Some computers and switches use GVRP (GARP VLAN Registration Protocol) to dynamically create, change, and remove VLANs. GVRP-enabled switches can identify the switch port of VLAN members and track VLAN status.
In order for GVRP to be supported across the network, adapters and switches must have GVRP enabled.
To enable GVRP on a team or adapter that has at least one VLAN
In the Network Component Tree, right-click a Teamed Adapter Listing that has at least one VLAN.
Click GVRP Support.
The GVRP Support dialog box appears.
Click Enabled.
Click OK.
Click Apply.
The adapter is now GVRP-enabled. To disable GVRP support, complete the instructions above with the exception of instruction 3. Click Disabled instead of Enabled.
Because there are different implementations of GVRP, enabling GVRP on the adapter does not guarantee GVRP compatibility between network devices. If GVRP does not seem to be functioning, disable GVRP on the adapter.
