Switch Fault Tolerance (SFT) provides a fail-over between switches when each adapter in the team is connected to a separate switch. SFT teams can only have a maximum of two members. Spanning Tree Protocol must be turned on in the switches.
SFT teams are compatible with the following:
| Adapter type | Requires one Intel® server adapter to be a member of the team |
| Adapter speed | Can be mixed, such as one adapter linked at 100 Mbps and one running at 1000 Mbps |
| Network configuration | Each adapter must be connected to a different switch. Spanning Tree must be enabled |
